A potential undersea pipeline carrying natural gas from deposits in the eastern Mediterranean to Europe is “very realistic” and could help secure the continent’s energy future, Israel’s energy minister said Tuesday.
Yuval Steinitz said that a study on the “strategic” EastMed Pipeline Project shows that the pipeline is feasible, even though it presents technical challenges due to the depths involved.
The Israeli lawmaker said an undersea pipeline would be less vulnerable to sabotage and would not have to cross many national borders to reach markets, making it a safer investment.
“This is one of the best projects,” Steinitz told The Associated Press ahead of the signing of an agreement between Cyprus, Israel, Greece and Italy affirming their commitment to moving ahead with the project.

Zerohedge used to pubish a lot of articles about the pipeline wars, years ago.
I’m not an Israel hater or this information isn’t from an Israel hater. Its actual information. Israel has to have open access through one or both areas. I’m trying to remember why. RUSTY do you remember the reason? It might be oil pipe line since Russia is in Syria....and why we are helping take out the Iranians in Syria for Israel

From what I understand, HRC etc were trying to facilitate Saudi oil flow thru Syria to Turkey and Europe with previous bad guys in Saudi Arabia, which Trump flipped.
Not sure what kind of deal he did with them, but it was a good one. Some of the bad actors in Israel were probably helping the Chaos in Syria to keep them fighting each other instead of Israel... just my guess.
