I am assuming NOLA will stock up on alcohol for championship weekend as if it is Mardi Gras season.

You know the way that headline is worded I thought they were supposed to write: ‘LSU fans drink bottled beer out of Atlanta hotel’.
Seems could be written a bit better than it is.

There are plenty of stores where they could have bought more beer in the area. Restocking would not have been a problem. Were they just fishing for a story?

In 1980, I was riding an Amtrak train from Los Angeles to Ann Arbor, Mich. with a group of Ronald Reagan supporters who were on their way to the Republican National Convention in Detroit. As the train entered the Great Plains, which were undergoing the most intense heat wave since 1936, the air conditioning failed and the windows couldn't be rolled down. So the train quickly ran out of beer.
However, the conductor announced that we would be stopping at La Junta, Colo. for about a half an hour, and that there was a liquor store about a block from the station. So when the train stopped, the passengers bolted for the store--and I was one of the first in line.
Eventually, the train was resupplied with beer. But based on that experience (the train was 14 hours late getting in and 12 hours late getting home), I have never since ridden Amtrak and most likely never will again.

I used to take the Southern Crescent Limited from New Orleans to New York, in the good old days of drawing rooms at Pullman porters. That was the way to travel.

Okay. But did the LSU fans start turning over rocks, looking for dinner?

I love the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. I go there often. I love the bar under the massive curved atrium.
Can’t believe they ran out of anything!

Well, as long as they still had some on tap, and/or in cans, I reckon all but the snobs will survive.

The 11th, 12th, and 13th are going to be some wild nights in New Orleans. And more than a few folks will likely be wildly miserable for a day or three thereafter ;-)

The wise hotel manager will pre-emptorily limit the amount of booze available on site in such an event. Your own clientele can hold only so much before they cease to be an asset.
Saves a lot on unrecoverable costs of damage to property and long-term loss of other clients who want a safe, sane place to stay.
Let the boozers find a different pigsty to barf and fight in. You can tell the ones who booze by the company they choose. Eventually, even the pigs will get up and walk away.
