I agree... And whether conservatives- such as I- like it or not, the attitudes of squishy Senators facing tough elections etc. have to be taken into account.

An immediate dismissal by Mitch only invites Crazy Nancy to hold another vote to impeach again as soon as they get back.
Justice delayed has led to a presidency denied or at least squelched - that Comey, HRC, Brennan, McCabe, etc walk free - while Roger Stone is in prison - Biden is on video bragging about using American money to get the heat off his kick back conduit kid but president Trump is corrupt for looking into how foreign influence was actually applied in the 2016. The cyberworld gives too much foundational support to those living in pretendland - the phony applification of the social media echo chamber coupled with the corrupt nature of senators is a dangerously scary mix. Its long since time this was put down. But instead these Senators are figuring out what political favors they can get for their votes, or avoid having their graft exposed in the crossfire - disgusting

Levin is not as smart as he thinks he is if he thinks Anwar al-Awlaki’s kids, born in Yemen to one citizen parent, are natural born citizens eligible to be President.

Best guess, here, is there are some sturdy Advantages for our side, like causing a further splintering of the Democrats and even some hostile reporting emerging, from Leftist media questioning the intelligence of Pelosi!

Last I checked, the term “week” was pretty well defined. It gives them the chance, in the public’s eyes, to put up or shut up. After that, time’s up.
Rejecting just the prospect of even a consideration of an impeachment vote isn’t very likely to fly in court, anyway.
Start the Senate trail now. Subpoena the articles from the house. Begin indicting house members for obstruction. Soon followed by indictments related to AG Barr’s findings.
Start making arrest with full press coverage excluding MSNBC and CNN. I would suggest completely stripping MSNBC and CNN of all WH access since PACs are the press. They are marketing organizations.
Stretch the Senate process out for at least 10 months. This would force democratic candidates to either missing the campaign trail or resign so they can campaign.
Since, everyone agrees that Russia meddled, require every state submit proof that voter registrations consist only of US Citizens that actually reside in the state they are registered to vote and in.

Agreed. I don't like or trust McConnell, except on judicial nominations, but I won't criticize him for waiting until the US Senate is back in session to hold a quick trial based on the "Impeachment articles".
You can bet Mitch has been sweet-talking Mittens and Suzy as well as Joe Manchin.

My thoughts exactly. The excruciatingly slow Mitch drives me crazy. He is always giving the rats time to cause all kinds of mischief and seize the MSM narrative. Frustrating as hell.

I have to admit I am unclear as to if the Senate has the same unlimited power and say in it’s chamber as the House did re:deciding what’s what when it comes to how the process goes. If they can run the whole show without any House or Dem input , they should indeed go through some motions and then bring the curtain down.
Otherwise I’d just ignore the whole thing and point out the Dems don’t really believe anything they had put forth - it was just a political bluff game for them.
If the Senate is not in session, Trump can make recess appointments...
