When someone uses the phrase “Giant red blob of hot sea water”, 68 degrees F wouldn’t come to my mind. I would think more like 100 degrees or warmer.
68 isn’t hot. It just isn’t. The headline lies.

Agreed, but it is still a fair piece warmer than 50, which was what I was replying to. There are things that won’t thrive at 68 that do fine at 50—but there are probably things that do fine at 68 that won’t thrive at 50.

Yes. A dozen or so people were just killed in New Zealand due to a volcanic eruption of a low lying volcano. Apparently it’s hard for some people to put two and two together.
