I like the “new”\old Army Uniform...
That was my first question also.
....those service members present appear to be United States Marines, not Air Force types....the VMFAT squadron designator shows that the aircraft in the picture is a Marine aircraft not USAF or US Army....look at the lower canopy frame...GYSGT stands for a Unites States Marine Gunnery Sergeant, again, not U. S. Air Force.... jus’ settin’ the record straight, nome sayin’.....??
Trust me...I know what a Marine looks like...(’cept maybe Marine wing wipers - they dance to a different tune)just sayin.
I should have been more specific. I was talking about what looks like a 4-star on the right in the 4th picture - That ain’t a Marine uniform. He’s is wearing what looks like a Combat Infantryman Badge - which is Army.
Those in cammo look like a mix of the branches of services - I see Army/Navy/Air Force/Coast Guard/Marine
None of the officers look like Marines.

Looks like that ‘plan’ they were working on in the 50s about making all services ‘one’ is creeping closer to fruition with advent of ‘Joint Bases’, that is a USMC plane, but those Gyrenes do not look like ‘Marines’ of my day (the maintenance crew), then the two coasties and that one officer in the Blue uniform is probably AF and the other O in that picture is most likely Army (based on insignia)
I also didn’t ‘notice’ a Marine O - unless they are wearing the same fatigues as the Es????

Army went back to old school greens - WWII - with their uniforms in 2018. Limited use for now.

when I was in, Marines called them “utilities”. Not sure what they call them today.
I was USN, and we had dungarees.
When I went in was issued 13 button trousers, and patch pocket dungarees (1956).
The patch pocket dungarees and starched, ironed shirt with ‘clean’ white hat was a sharp uniform.
They were starting to issue the slit pocket dungarees and we called them ‘wave dungarees’.. Guess that would be ‘sexist’ today.
Also old trick of letting your dungarees take a dip in the ocean while underway to give them that ‘salty’ look.
When we could ‘rag’ on each other, you ‘Jugheads’ would call us squids. Years later I finally looked up the word Squid and it is considered
AN INTELLIGENT FORM OF MARINE LIFE..... ‘nuff said...
Same as the psych tests we all took for Recon, Submarines, Paratroopers etc....
I used to claim I was sane and had the papers to prove it until it finally dawned on me that the test was actually to see if we were CRAZY enough to live in a long steel tube or jump out of perfectly sound aircraft or swim 20 miles in full pack.
