Pittsburgh Steelers safety Kameron Kelly fought with police after he was thrown out of a South Side bar early Friday morning when he became irate at the jukebox selection, according to charges filed against him.
Kelly, 23, is charged with two counts of making terroristic threats and one count of resisting arrest, court records show. He was arraigned about 4:30 a.m. and released on nonmonetary bail.
A Pittsburgh police officer working security outside of Marios on East Carson Street was approached by the bartender sometime after midnight seeking help to get a man later identified as Kelly out of the bar. Kelly became agitated that the songs he had paid for on the jukebox were being skipped over, according to the criminal complaint, and refused to leave.
Kelly allegedly refused to leave again when asked by the uniformed officer, identified in the complaint as Zachary Webb. Webb eventually convinced Kelly to step outside, though Kelly tried to go back inside, police said.
While outside, Webb accidentally stepped on a womans foot, at which point Kelly became aggressive, saying the woman, Devyn Pritchard, was his girl, Webb wrote in the criminal complaint.
Prichard began to argue with Webb, at which point Kelly pushed his chest into Webbs, telling him, I promise to God Ill (expletive) you up, boy, according to the complaint.
Other officers working East Carson Street arrived and pulled Kelly away from Webb as Webb attempted to arrest Kelly, according to the complaint. Kellys friend, identified as Andrew Lewis, tried to pull Kelly away from police, and other officers had to pull Lewis off Kelly, police said.
Webb wrote that he struggled to get control of Kelly due to his size.
As Kelly pulled away, he fell to the ground causing me to fall on top of him, he wrote in the complaint. Kelly kept struggling, pulling his arms away as Webb tried to handcuff him, according to the complaint, and a crowd began to gather. Webb wrote he delivered multiple closed-fist punches to Kellys face in an attempt to get him under control.
Once in custody, Kelly refused to identify himself, Webb alleged, and would not give his local address after officers found his Texas ID card.
Police said Prichard attempted to block the path to the police cruiser. She is charged via summons with disorderly conduct, according to police. Officers said Lewis was cooperative when informed he would be charged via summons with obstruction.
Kellys lip was split open during the altercation, and he was taken to UPMC Mercy where he continued to cause problems before he was taken to the Allegheny County Jail, police said. Staff at Marios told police that Kelly has caused fights in the bar on other occasions, as well.
If you are a football player who last season was in the AAF, which folded 2/3 of the way into the season, bouncing paychecks as it went, and you are somehow lucky enough to make it onto the roster of an NFL club, you do NOT need to be getting into bar brawls with the cops because the jukebox somehow skipped over your favorite rank hip-hop tune. This guy is a marginal player who is likely to be cut now. What a maroon!
Well said.
Another formerly talented Black Athlete loses his self control and disgraces himself and the blacks, who supported him.
Seems he is not a Juke Box Hero.
Don’t Rock the Juke Box!
Will he get ‘jukebox’ justice or will he be just another former NFL player?
Tune in later for another episode of ‘Jukeboxes Gone Wild’
I don't get agitated often but then a gin mill jukebox skips over my songs, I go silverback.
Reminds me of the old country song Bubba shot the jukebox lol...negro felon league...with money...
yup...this guy went undrafted, was desperate to play football, no agents would sign him, and he just blew what will be his last chance at pro ball...
Gee, the worst that ever happened to me when I loaded eight Hank Williams tune in a dive bar was that a jerk unplugged the jukebox. Far more effective.
It seems like 9 out of 10 Steeler thugball incidents occur on the very same street where this happened.
My son told me that juke boxes today are digital and can be controlled via a phone app.
If you want to hear your songs played before someone else’s you just pay a “bump fee” via the app and your’s will play.
Once or twice a year he and his buddies take over a bar in their hometown and play the obnoxious music they like to the detriment of everyone else.
annnnnnnd ..he’s officially been canned.

With the Pittsburgh police, I will wait to see video before making any judgment.
