If not sent to Senate, then "impeachment" isn't impeachment, it's just a House resolution

The Constitution says the impeachment process involves both chambers.

If the House doesn't send them to the Senate, that transforms them into just another meaningless House resolution, like declaring National Pickle Week. At most it transforms "impeachment" into a nonbinding House "censure" of the president.

So I'll be glad if they nullify their "impeachment" by keeping it to themselves and not sending it to the Senate.

So how long can denture-rattling Pelosi sit on this garbage?
Is there an expiration date?
Best used by or it becomes invalid?

Correct. It will be a Super-Censure.

The Constitution says the impeachment process involves both chambers.

No, the Constitution says the Impeachment process is the exclusive purview of the House of Representatives.

Once impeached, the Senate holds a trial to convict or acquit.

This has nothing to do with impeaching the President, it is just a tactic to reduce his lead in the the upcoming election. They just can’t accept the results of the Electoral College in 2016.

“do NOT expect the press to characterize it in this way, at all”

I don’t, but Trump’s supporters - and Trump himself - should, because that’s the perfectly logical way to view it.

An indictment in the criminal system isn’t an indictment if not sent for prosecution. the analogy holds here, backed up by the Constitution specifically saying both Chambers are involved in the process. If the House is voting on something that doesn’t have the force of law, and doesn’t send it to the Senate, that’s a House Resolution, not a constitutional impeachment.

What happens with impeachment from this point forward will not change the FACT that this is a huge political win for President Trump.

There is not enough lipstick in the world for the MSM to put on this pig.

I hope, forever. That effectively nullifies it - or transforms it into a House resolution, like National Rotate Your Tires Day.

And you are a Constitution scholar since when?

You are wrong. An impeachment vote as described by the constitution is not any less an impeachment. Period.

So they took a censure vote and slapped the name impeachment on it. Having their cake and eating it too.

The angle Sundance at CTH is postulating is that the approved articles of impeachment are the basis for court cases to get the previously denied Muller Grand Jury material and other material that POTUS has declared Executive Privlege on.

I was always wondering what was up with Princess Nancy pushing impeachment knowing the Senate would acquit. Didn’t make sense given her penchant for dirty dealings. The Sundance theory does make sense as it will support the impeachment that will never end.

Impeachment is now the harness with which congress will restrain Trump. It’s out there, if Trump does not toe the line they will pull the trigger. Where are the fact finding hearings in the senate? Will mcconnell put the senate in recess so Trump can make recess appointments? I think not. They’ve queued up impeachment so they can remove Trump in short order if he steps out of line.

It is more than that.... I wrote this on another thread -

It is apparent in the Ukraine at least that the Soros groups were given large amounts of U.S. taxpayer money funneled through the state department labeled as aid. This is part and parcel of what the “Ukraine” scandal is being fabricated for and many of the “witnesses” in the house hearing were responsible.

This is not chump change.... we are talking about billions of dollars that are “unaccounted for” and they were so brazen they labeled one of the groups “anti-corruption league.”

I do not know if they did wrongdoing although it is very suspicious, but consider that many of our nations leaders have children who were received compensation in the Ukraine. It is past the point of reasonable suspicion that begs for a full investigation, but will anything be done?

The impeachment over the possibility of a Ukraine investigation makes a lot more sense now doesn’t it?

If you are interested in this, watch the OAN interviews with Rudy and watch the specials on the Ukraine by Glenn Beck and Oliver Stone..... yes, Oliver Stone. The Stone documentaries are available on Amazon Prime.

Ukraine was the poster-child for U.S. election interference, corruption, and the squandering of taxpayer money. The FACT that groups like Soros and his hydra of left-wing organizations, Franklin Templeton (an ally of the DNC), Fusion GPS, and children of our political leaders were so heavily involved and compensated cannot be ignored.

If the articles are not delivered to the Senate there is no trial so the impeachment did not fail. They can say to the monkeys in their base that they voted to impeach the orange man. It also did not succeed so the voters may cool down by November.

Maybe she'll send it to the Senate after the government is funded. I think the funding runs out tomorrow? If she sends it to the Senate now, the Senate might not be able to pass the funding to keep the government open because they would have to stop all non-impeachment business.
