Actually the SOTU has only been given directly to a joint session in a speech for just over 100 years (minus Hoover) starting with Wilson. Prior to that it was typically delivered in the form of a letter. It’s evolved into more of a speech to the American People then to Congress as Radio and TV made the deliveries more available.
I was kinda hoping that POTUS would turn Pelosi down stating he would instead deliver the traditional report in keeping with the founding practice and speak directly to the people on what the report said.

If Q and the presidential communication system are ways to guarantee that Trump can’t be shut down by the MSM, as they do every time they talk over him talking, then it’s hard to see how he can ignore any opportunity to speak directly to the public in the SOTU. My hope is that he rips them from one end to the other as he describes what they’re trying to do to the state of OUR UNION. I want the best speechwriter that has ever written a SOTU speech chained to their keyboard until Feb.
