A nuclear attack on US soil would most likely target one of six cities: New York, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Washington, DC.
But public-health experts say any of those cities would struggle to provide emergency services to the wounded.
The cities also no longer have designated fallout shelters to protect people from radiation.

I live in California and honestly I wouldn’t even care. Heck I think a nuclear attack on this state might actually get rid of the poop on the sidewalk

These cities are the greatest detriment to rural America as their voting population if greater than the population of rural America. Anti electoral College ideals want to put them in control of America.

Not really. The only preparation that matters is preventing it from happening in the first place. Should one go off, all bets are off depending on various factors: airburst/surface, type of material, winds, etc.
I've had some pretty interesting conversations with people in the nuclear field, including many from one of the homes of the Manhattan Project; Oak Ridge, TN. With many of the players in the radiation/nuclear field locally, there is lots of information and perspectives, but the consensus is generally that prevention is best hope.
