To: Harmless Teddy Bear

The marker is for his former grave in Berlin (the body moved a few times) and states that in 1975 the remains were moved to a cemetery in Wiesbaden. He lies in a family plot there.

First burial: Bertangles, France, near where he was shot down

Second: Fricourt, France, in a cemetery for German soldiers killed during WW1

Third: Berlin, in 1922. The cemetery there ended up being on the boundary with the Soviet Zone, and the stone damaged by gunfire directed at persons attempting to escape to the west. Pictured marker located there.

Fourth and last: Wiesbaden, 1975.

I just wondered as I had never heard of anyone desecrating his grave.

He was never anything but an honorable solder.

Hope they don't move him again. Let the poor fellow have some rest!
