The black student barged into the meeting and berated the girl and her counselors, causing a commotion. As word spread, the girl became the target of cyberbullying and threats, she said.

There are actually conservative Jews in New York, but I don’t think they let their kids go to the public schools there (not sure though).

I know a white guy with good SATs, but mediocre grades that got into a top college. That was me. It took me a few years to figure out that the students sitting next to me were the very top of their respective high schools, and that I needed to step things up a bit. I suspect that this poor black guy is finding out the same at Yale, and it sucks for him as he could likely do fine at a slightly lower-tier school - but Yale needed him for their recruiting pictures.
