She was delivering the government line on a “local” subject that has generated violent mass demonstrations, a referendum, and a government crackdown, just in recent years. The fact that she’s a cute young lady and did it in a nice way doesn’t change the facts.
In my opinion, it was a poor decision to put a young teenager in that position. It’s unlikely that she is, herself, a stone cold government shill, but whoever planned the display is one.
There is an ancient Spanish tradition of teenage princesses being significant independent political players.
And it is the Spanish monarchy that is the core of Spanish unity after all. Spain was created by the unification of crowns, and THAT was done in large part through the will of a teenage princess. Also a blonde, coincidentally.
