Princess Leonor of Spain is not your average teen.
The 14-year-old heir to the Spanish throne nicknamed Spains Disney Princess for her flowing blonde locks delivered an important speech at the Princess of Girona Foundation awards in Barcelona on Monday amid a backdrop of anti-royal street protests aimed at her father, King Felipe Vi, 51. (Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, a semi-autonomous region in northeast Spain whose push for independence has resulted in the countrys biggest political crisis in decades.)
To make matters even more daunting, Leonor who holds the title of Princess of Girona also delivered the speech in English and Catalan, as opposed to her native Spanish.
From a very young age, our parents have told us about Catalonia, Leonor said in her speech, according to El Pais. Thanks to them we know more about Catalan history and culture. This land, Catalonia, will always occupy a special place in my heart.

Children should be seen and not heard.
13 was once considered the age one became responsible for oneself.Sad that we have millions of 25 year old children.

But in my state one can carry concealed at 10.
You are speaking of the heir to the throne.
This is also the family business - I believe QEII refers to her own enterprise as “the firm”.
One starts young in the business of being royalty. In the old days even a 14 year old royal was an important piece on the European chessboard.
I lived through MKUltra and it made me stronger...
She’d throw up just going down the hallway ...
Yeah. And kings and princesses are as real as dragons and unicorns.
It’s a joke people take royalty seriously.
“Actually she struck me as the anti-Greta LoL.”
Well, Her majesty is giving out awards to climate change hucksters, so....
Spain honors research of plants role against climate change
June 5, 2019 GMT
MADRID (AP) A Spanish foundation says two prominent biologists working separately on how plants can help fight climate change have won Spains Princess of Asturias award for scientific research.
Studies on plant biology by Joanne Chory, a researcher with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Maryland, and Sandra Myrna Díaz in Argentina, have been independent but complementary, the jury said Wednesday.
Chorys work at the molecular and cellular level of plants have shed light on how they are able to absorb carbon dioxide, which scientists say is connected to global warming.
Díaz has focused on the role of biodiversity in countering climate change.

What, you think she’s a stone cold cold government shill instead of a fairly innocent instrument of same? Okay, your privilege.
fta- ...at the Princess of Girona Foundation awards in Barcelona...
Princess Leonor holds the title of Princess of Girona.
She gave the speech at the foundation bearing her title.
Yes, I understand that. Charles Windsor is Prince of Wales, too, and for a very similar historic reason: to sideswipe separatists.
Do you really think there’s no political spin to this event, managed by people much older and (I hope) more cynical than the Infanta Leonor?
Sorry, dont follow, not sure what you are fussing about.
She is not lecturing and scolding the world. Her comments are about her country. Greta, well, she is a lunatic as she literally screams at the world.
Different scenario.
Cheers
