Thomas Callaway, a 43-year-old youth minister (Pittman Park United Methodist Church) from Statesboro, GA was charged Friday with sexual battery, a misdemeanor, in Chatham County, records show. “The conduct displayed toward Alex Bozarjian during her live coverage of Saturday’s Savannah Bridge Run was reprehensible and completely unacceptable,” the Savannah television station the employs Bozarjian said after the arrest.
Bozarjian told police the man had slapped and then grabbed her buttocks, the Associated Press reported.

Hmmmm...good point.
I’m not supporting slapping a strangers butt however there is a sense of proportion here that seems out of wack. Lara Logan was essentially gang raped in Egypt and I recall less outrage in the media of that then this event. I don’t know if anyone was ever jailed over her rape. Just sayin.....
And I have no doubt you would have him in prison for it.

I worked in a predominantly female office for a decade and experienced the same behavior from many women who were peers. Right? Wrong?
Never bothered me, dare I say that at times I found it flattering. Would have never dreamed of turning them in or filing charges.
Needless to say, if I had they probably would have been fired. Many are still friends to this day.
I guess it just didn’t bother me.

Yes, we live in a new world. However, patting/swatting any woman's butt today is a big no/no.
That they would have been fired shows the complete turnaround from how it used to be. Which of course made it especially incidious and common.

IMHO, 43 is too old to be a youth minister. By that age, he should be a head pastor. I do know, however, that the United Methodist Church moves pastors around a lot, and the pastors don’t have a lot to say about it.
Yeah..about that...why do coaches smack kids on the butt? Seems a little odd to me, when a pat on the back or a trouble to the head would work just as well.
