This is a duplicitous, but ultimately doomed strategy on the part of the Dems, IMO. They are boxed in, and this proposal by Schumer will not get them out of it. Sitting on the articles of impeachment is not a political win for them. They might try it for a while, but if they withhold the transmission for more than a few weeks, it becomes old news and more than likely a PR liability for them. Meanwhile Trump remains president.

Maybe they’re afraid of a Senate trial and remaining in stalemate till Nov. 2020 seems to them like their best option. Still, I believe Trump wants a trial in the Senate and he has ways to push Nancy in that direction. Whatever leverage he holds over her, I’m convinced it exists. How else do you explain Pelosi’s agreement to vote on USMCA?

The derps must be panicking on what Rudy Guliani is putting out there, with what he’s discovered about the Ukrainian corruption, and looking to delay anyway they can.

I just finished listening to Schumer’s speech from earlier today.

He sounds panicked to me.

Also, he’s apparently trying to get into the Guiness Book of World Records for using the word “dilatory” the most times in a single speech.

Dilatory.
adj. Causing or intended to cause delay.
adj. Characterized by or given to delay or slowness: synonym: slow.
n. In law, a plea or other proceeding in a suit which is intended to delay the suit without reference to its merits.

What a tool.

My bet is that saying 1000 times that he’s not going to be dilatory means the exact opposite.

Yes, I think so. A Senate trial should scare the hell out of them. It will completely destroy Biden as well as their entire impeachment narrative.
