This is a duplicitous, but ultimately doomed strategy on the part of the Dems, IMO. They are boxed in, and this proposal by Schumer will not get them out of it. Sitting on the articles of impeachment is not a political win for them. They might try it for a while, but if they withhold the transmission for more than a few weeks, it becomes old news and more than likely a PR liability for them. Meanwhile Trump remains president.

Maybe they’re afraid of a Senate trial and remaining in stalemate till Nov. 2020 seems to them like their best option. Still, I believe Trump wants a trial in the Senate and he has ways to push Nancy in that direction. Whatever leverage he holds over her, I’m convinced it exists. How else do you explain Pelosi’s agreement to vote on USMCA?
