Vanity: Shortage of Madonna and Child Postage Stamps?

Is there a shortage of "Madonna and Child" postage stamps? If so, why?!
Every year I send out about 80 Christams cards and a few Happy Hanukkah/Happy New Year cards.
This year, when I went to my closest post office on Black Friday, they said they were out and were expecting more in early December (they still don't have them). Last week, I went to a busier post office on a main road (Camelback). None.
Today, I tried a third post office, nada. Finally, I scored some 2016 edition at the Maryvale Parkway post office.
I cannot think of ANYthing easier to keep in inventory than a product that costs next to nothing to make, doesn't go bad, and doesn't take up any appreciable room.
This goes beyond regular post office inefficiency and sometimes incompetency. It almost has a feel that some decision maker somewhere wants to discourage Madonna and Child, and encourage Santy Claus or wreaths or Peace on Earth stamps, ANYthing but a religious stamp with the word "Christmas" printed on it.

Depends a lot on location. I've heard Mr. Rogers stamps are available about anywhere else in the country except here in his home county where they've long since sold out.
For an extra dollar or two, you can order them on-line at usps.com.

5-7 day delivery time. Not acceptable. Also not acceptable to not have Christmas stamps in Phoenix at Christmas time.

Ask your local postmaster.
I’m willing to be they stock fewer of the religious stamps because they aren’t requested as often as the secular.

Two days ago, I picked up stamps at the Post Office in downtown Minneapolis.
They had two kinds of Madonna & Child - the 2016 version and the current version. I grabbed a booklet of the 2016 version.
I always send out Christmas card - but am never dead set on using Christmas stamps. About half of mine went out using the USS Missouri commemorative stamp but women behind the counter told me all they had in stock were Christmas stamps.
One thing for sure - I’ll never use a Kwanzaa stamp to mail out anything. What a fraudulent holiday it is. I’d rather have my bills and Christmas cards be a bit late than use a Kwanzaa stamp. Maybe that’s a case of cutting one nose off to spite their face - but I’m deadset on this.

The post offices stated the opposite, actually... that they were too popular. Here in Phoenix, Madonna and Child stamps should be very popular in part due to a large Hispanic population, and no shortage of Catholics.

the store where I usually buy stamps always has the Santa stamps at Christmas, never the Madonna ones. the rest of the year they have the “forever” flag stamps. If I wanted a choice, I’d have to go to the Post Office two miles away.

There's ALWAYS a shortage. When I went to get my stamps this year, I asked the P.O. clerk why they always sell out of the madonna and child stamps. She said they sold out in less than three days this time and agreed something was suspicious about it. They're the most popular Christmas stamps but the P.O. seems to make a point of not printing enough.

Same where I live. The madonna and child stamps are the most popular yet the post office never increases the supply.

I'll give a pass to the stores, as they mainly stock some stamps as a catch-all convenience. The Post Office itself has no excuse.

I’m waiting for the GRETA stamps... “Go green!”
To: Dr. Sivana
It wouldn’t surprise me at all if some Planned Parenthood-supporting atheist bureaucrat halved the Madonna stamp order and doubled the Kwanzaa ones.
