2019 has been an incredible college football season so far for CBS. The network announced Sunday that theyd posted the best viewership numbers for their season-long coverage (to date; they still have Army-Navy next week, which will undoubtedly bring in plenty of further viewers) in 29 years, and that Saturdays SEC championship game (which saw then-No. 2 LSU beat then-No.4 Georgia 37-10) averaged 13.703 million viewers. Thats the second-highest viewership total for any NCAA game this year, behind only Nov. 10s LSU-Alabama game (which also aired on CBS, and which drew 16.64 million viewers on average).

College football - OK.
National Felon’s League - ptui.
Many people have sworn off the NFL for their anti-American stance, so college football gets the benefit.
College football is for real and the NFL is for money.
Best Final 4 lineup to-date
May turn out to be The Best Ever in only year . . .what, 6?
Hopefully it lives up to the hype
Even for ou . . . Geaux Tigers
This year the system worked out perfectly.
Nobody can complain about being left out.
Football is pretty much single-handedly keeping broadcast television alive.
“Thats the second-highest viewership total for any NCAA game this year, behind only Nov. 10s LSU-Alabama game (which also aired on CBS, and which drew 16.64 million viewers on average).”
The NFL regularly gets more than 16 million
Patooey
I gotta root for SEC West. Roll Tide.
Yep, everything fell into place quite nicely
Signed,
The Committee
PS Nice year for you
PSS And the four best QBs too. When might that happen again?
I tape Saturday’s college games - stay blacked out - and watch them on Sunday instead of watching the thugs in the National Felons League.
Didn’t Brent Musberger do the college games after those years of hosting The NFL Today?
Musburger did college football as well as NFL Tofay for CBS. He was the #1 college announcer for ABC after he left CBS.
The current CBS/SEC contract expires after the 2023 season
If the ratings stay high which they likely will do, the SEC could sign a TV deal that is truly unprecedented
Instead of $55 million/year you could have $250 million/year or more, considering the competition, ESPN, Fox Sports and FS1, even outlets like Amazon and Apple for their streaming services will want to get in on the action...
Don’t be fooled, college football’s all about money too. How do you think the coaching staffs at the football factories are all millionaires?
There are a lot of intriguing bowl games this year, quite different from other years. Too bad that so many players will not give their all in bowl games over their disappointment.
“PSS And the four best QBs too. When might that happen again?
Want to see how many QB’s are drafted ahead of Hurts, and then write that again?
