A honey badger was rescued from the coils of a python by two jackals and was then helped by them in killing the snake before he turned on his new friends to steal the reptile.

Roselyne Kerjosse captured the spectacular fight to the death while on safari in Chobe Park, Botswana last month.

When the 60-year-old began recording, the honey badger was in mortal danger, with the python wrapping its entire body around it.

What, pray tell, is a “viscous tug of war”? (Header on video)

Maybe the python was gooey?

Funny. (Why do people put an “s” in that word?)

Pretty sure there will be left-overs. Jackals love left-overs.

Here's a link to the all-time, best narrated "nature" video on the honey badger

That’s a good lesson in survival, amoral treachery and using others as tools.

The jackals wanted a meal. They wouldn’t care less whether the honey badger killed the python or the python killed the honey badger as long as they could take the corpse away from the winner.

Absolutely!

I admit to having no sympathy for the snake. Just how it is, I am sure the snake lovers feel differently, but...I’ll always root for the prey in a snake’s coils.

I will give the snake credit-that had to be tough to get that Honey Badger in a position where the badger couldn’t get its jaws on it. That was impressive, and I think, foolhardy, but before filming began, I assume the Honey Badger went after the snake.

Canines are smart, and you would think those jackals would know better, but they were probably being driven by hunger I guess.

But damn. Those Honey Badgers are tough as all get out. You just have to admire that Honey Badger. It looked beat, and I’m sure those coils were getting tighter and tighter. When it got free, it looked like it was gathering its wits, but then jumped back in and hell for leather, was going to take that snake into the bush no matter what those jackals did!

I so wanted to see that Honey Badger completely jump one of those jackals and tear it a new rectum...

That was so entertaining to watch-thanks for posting it!

By chance, I had watched that over the weekend-it was funny, but...the nasal homosexual lilt to the voice of the narrator was both annoying and funny at the same time for some reason.

I suppose that is why so many people found it funny...:)

I love how the narrator sounds a bit light in the loafers, but it adds to the overall effect in this instance.

“...helped by them in killing the snake before he turned on his new friends to steal the reptile.”

Imbecilic anthropomorphism.

The enemy of my enemy is not my friend - he is merely the enemy of my enemy.

Looks to me that the honey badger had everything under control. Python never had a real squeeze on the honey badger. Honey badger’ very sharp teeth and claws were more than a match for the python.
