Next comes the War on Flags. The only winners will be the flag cartels.

Just buy American made products, most especially the flag. Problem solved. No government needed.

Wait, more government?
That in itself is unAmerican
Let the consumer decide

My gut reaction is to be opposed to this.
I don’t want forced patriotism... I’ll choose myself to buy US.
Plus, like it when places like Hong Kong (Tehran someday?) have plenty of US flags to fly.

What we really need is a domestic content law that slowly ratchets up the US content for manufactured goods and all sub-assemblies to 90% over several years.
If foreign companies want to sell in the US they can do what US companies have to do everywhere else: setup shop in the US.

I like the idea of it, but I don’t believe that’s a practical law to make or to enforce.

How about requiring representatives and senators to be made in America as well as debt free and proof of having paid taxes before taking office?

New Senate Bill Requires ALL American Flags to Be Made in the USA Did the guy who wrote this article even read the bill?
It requires no such thing, only that American flags purchased by the U.S. Government be made in the U.S.

Well meaning, but not a good idea. Congress should refrain from messing with the free market.

Freepers who read the article will see that it only applies to flags purchased by Federal agencies.
To: Monrose72
This is for government agencies, not we, the people. If you are using government funds to procure a flag, it must be American made.

Can't we spend our time on more pressing issues, like mandatory classes on the Constitution and original intent? Logic, debate, and rhetoric?
This isn't going to change a stupid electorate.
