The 68th Miss Universe Pageant will be broadcast tonight (Sunday, 12/8) live from Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, GA on the Fox Network. The pageant starts at 7PM ET and lasts three hours. Its hosted by Steve Harvey for the 5th consecutive year and broadcast simultaneously on Telemundo in Spanish. The Pre-Shows start at 3PM ET on Telemundo.
90+ contestants from all over the world will be participating. My high school friends daughter is representing Puerto Rico (Madison Anderson) so well be watching this evening and hoping that she brings the sixth Miss Universe crown to the island.
FYI - Sunday, 12/8
Dear Admin - Is there any way to perhaps place this thread in the Front Page News section at about 6PM ET tonight? It sure will be a blast! (Not much else going on during early December Sunday evenings! LOL!) Many Thanks!
How many trannies is she competing against?
We are over the moon with Madison's performance so far. Her mom Belinda & I were classmates at Catholic school in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico from 1979-1984, when we graduated high school. She went on to become Miss Puerto Rico Teenager in 1984 and Miss Puerto Rico Tourism in 1986, so there's beauty genes in the family!
Played that gig many times; Same girls every year.
Most striking to me:
Haiti
Spain
Puerto Rico
France
Great Britain
South Africa
Panama
Singapore
It isn’t just her looks. Miss Puerto Rico exudes a lot of personality and charisma - star quality.
I’m going exotic this year with Miss Myanmar and Miss Serre Leone. And Miss Ireland looks like no Irish girl named O’Reilly I’ve ever known. Immigration lives.
She's a favorite of the judges because she's a NASA employee (studying aeronautics) and she's black. Hence, she checks the boxes. The pageant is taking place at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, so the organization needs her to be in the Top 20 for obvious reasons.
Thanks for your beautiful words - I will make sure to pass them on to Belinda today (her mom).
All we want is for her to be in the Top 10 so that she can speak when asked a question so that the world can see her oratory and charisma. Once they see & hear who she is, we are confident and hopeful that she'll clinch the crown. Belinda texted me yesterday a video of the contingency of Puerto Ricans assembled at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, and it's huge. The Colombians also have a huge representation. The lobby of the hotel was full of loud Puerto Ricans and Colombians with their national flags and musical instruments screaming at each other. The Colombians brought air horns and they couldn't even drown out the Puerto Ricans' screams. It was Awesome!
I saw a contestant in a wheelchair. Not sure if it’s for this or another pageant. Absolutely beautiful woman.
I believe she was participating in Miss North Carolina for Miss America. Gorgeous woman, I agree.
Madison is definitely one of the most beautiful.
Thank you, Nea. Will pass your message along to her mom.
here’s hoping Steve Harvey gives us another moment like 2015: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aOlqDKX7V4
i had it on in the background- did Dominican Republic say something about “girls stay girls”?
I can’t stand Harvey. He ruins Family Feud for me. Bring back Richard Dawson even if he’s deceased.
South Africa has a beautiful face but that hairdo is to butch...
