I have had some good experiences with State Dept. people. But they were all low-level people at embassies, helping to straighten out some mess for a relative who was in that country.

Only State Department guy I ever knew was in my seminar at at the War College. He was a very sensible guy. I often thought the State Department sent him to us to get him out of the way for a while.
