Kids are hard work and a long-term commitment. Not an attractive proposition to a generation that has been raised to value their own “happiness” above all else and to “collect experiences.”
One of the risks is that you ruin the kid's life. If someone is on the fence about having kids, then they shouldn't. It shouldn't be something they're pressured into by friends/family/significant other/the public at large.
