I think all three are available on Amazon Prime. But I've been hesitant to watch. Have you seen them? Are they any good?

I read the book twice and enjoyed it (except for the 20 page monologue near the end). But I have this gut feeling that the movies will be disappointing.

I'd love to see "We the Living" in a movie form.

I thought the first one was the best due to the chemistry between the Readan and Dagney actors.

I don’t think the 3 movies were that good. One of them had not so attractive characters. The latin lover may have looked a little too old. The 3 dvd’s were just not that memorable.

I saw them on Prime. I thought they were pretty decent. It’s a little jarring that the actors change through the three parts, but it doesn’t take long for you to get them settled.

I binged on all three. It’s a bit of a slog.

There are a lot worse things you could watch...

First one was good, second, so, so. I watched part of the third and found it on the level of a Hallmark Channel movie. It’s a shame Hollywood never did it before leftist Hollyweird took over.

The first two have been the only ones seen. Unable to catch the third at theaters. Some at FR did see it and, like other movies, there was pro and con. The first two we did enjoy. Like you, the book has been read multiple times (wore out the cover of the paperback and eventually misplaced a portion of the book.) Enjoyed seeing the printed word come to life.

I didn’t think they were very good. It would, however, make an excellent HBO mini-series with a decent budget and not Z-list actors. But that will never happen.

I’ve read the book twice, call me crazy but each time I learned a little more.....

The movies when they were made were not made one right after the other, so the actors are not the same for all 3.

IMO, based on the book, the first was pretty good and they got weaker as they were made probably based on the limited budget the producers operated on...

Part 3 was weak IMO, especially the ending

To do Atlas Shrugged correctly you would need a multi part mini-series on something like HBO with a budget big enough to really tell the story, which I don’t think will ever happen...

"I read the book twice ..."

I just recently read it ... No, wait. It was a newspaper article I read about our local utility shutting off electrical power to about a million people due to the company's equipment starting wildfires during windstorms.

Somehow sitting in the dark miles from the fires made me think of the book. Despite the fact that I pay at least four times more for electrical power than my relatives in Oregon, there isn't enough money to design and install equipment that doesn't start fires. The utility is now facing bankruptcy due to the financial losses they have created. Oh, well...[shrug].

Wow, I couldn't get through Atlas Shrugged, I found it very long and repetitive.
I loved The Fountainhead though. That's the Ayn Rand book that I recommend to friends.

"I think all three are available on Amazon Prime. "

Thanks for the heads up... Have not seen it listed on Prime over the past couple of years... Will certainly look for it later...

We loved Parts I and II, especially the cast of II. Samantha Mathis, Jason Beghe, and Esai Morales were great. Beckel was wonderful in Part I.

Part III was a little “out there” — a let-down after the first two.

The first time I read the book I skipped the 20-page speech by John Galt as well, but the second time I read it, I didn’t skip the speech. It turned out to be a very effective attack on “relativism.” It was (is) well worth the time to read it!

All three are available on YouTube. If you don’t mind the commercial interruptions, you can see all three.

I think the first installment was, by far, the best due to the chemistry between the principles.

What’s scary is the parallels between the premise of the book/film and what’s happening in the country today.

I watched “We The Living” back in the early ‘90s in Vancouver.

It’s Italian- made, produced during WWII with state support.

Once Il Duce realized it was not only anti-Red but anti-Fascist as well, it was hidden until release 25 or so years ago.

It’s an excellent film with well-known Italian stars .
