I am not an RC, so this is a legit question, How many years does it take for one to take Holy Orders?
as a former priest...4 years of college and 4 years in a theological Seminary.
“I am not an RC, so this is a legit question, How many years does it take for one to take Holy Orders?”
Doesn’t apply here. Manny says he’s become a Reformed Baptist.
Canon Law requires six years of study and competence in a pile of things. Often a year of entirely spiritual formation is also required.
All that said, Bishops are often “creative” and depending on the background of the candidate, all sorts of things may happen, for better or worse.

When God says you are ready. There are signs and marks.
But perhaps Manny is trying out for one of the higher orders, The Holy Order of the Heart of Christ Sluggers. ( They play baseball in heaven you know!)
In all seriousness. Manny is a Baptist:
“Since his MLB career ended eight years ago, Manny has received religious training in a Baptist seminary, which he uses to preach the word and run Bible study in hospitals.”

Generally, protestant seminary is 3 years if you go full time. It is a gradute degree. I suspect he is going part time.
Manny did not even graduate from high school let alone never having a college diploma which are prerequisites to attend a legitimate seminary. I suspect he is taking continuing ed type classes at a school that does not actually grant degrees. The articles did not say the name of the school.
