And they justify the “shutting down” as their part of Free Speech. They have the right to silence all opposition to their tyranny because of the First Amendment. At least, that’s their view. And if you disagree with their interpretation of the First Amendment, they will just shut you down.
The 1A is slowly dying. And it will be gone completely once “hate speech” laws become widespread.
Even now, using the wrong personal pronoun in NYC can get you fined up to $250,000. That law should have been invalidated by a judge one second after it was enacted. But nope, it’s still on the books.
