Actually they were from Idaho. Yes I suspect gethomeitis.

Then maybe commercial pilots should refuse to fly more often.
Just as more drivers should slow down on the roads in bad weather

I have about 4K hrs in the PC-12. Many of the facts arent known yet but generally the type of airplane is irrelevant in these cases. Professionally we are paid to fly safely between point A and point B but were also paid to say NO when its warranted. Given the plane was overloaded with 12 people and likely contaminated on takeoff I think this will end up on pilot judgment.

Highly unlikely the pilot wasn’t instrument qualified. That aircraft is a very complex aircraft with a gas turbine engine, retractable gear, and I believe, a constant speed prop.
I would also bet it had a full glass panel with autopilot. In all likelihood, he was near gross and encountered icing conditions right after take off. If the airport he left was a small uncontrolled strip without de-ice capability, he was in trouble as soon as he walked out to the aircraft.
Beautiful bird, tragic loss.

FWIW, in the two photos, it looks like a 4 bladed prop.

I read elsewhere that all the passengers were Idaho residents.

“FWIW, in the two photos, it looks like a 4 bladed prop.”
Four bladed prop then. Hartzell make a five blade for the PC-12.

Perhaps it is what the late Ray Briem called getthereitis We used to use both that as well as "gethomeitis" in the Air Force.

McCaskill (along with Hellary and obamy) is the one who kept pushing to get the NBC requirement crossed off the POTUS requirements.
