Yes, I posted a day ahead! Busy-busy with hunting and butchering, and Thanksgiving this weekend.
I love it!
Showed her the basics and off she went. I'll check with her late today to see if she finished her first one. It's so much fun sharing my addition with a new generation and getting a new yarn buddy to shop with.
Thanks for the ping.
Sounds like a fun weekend.
I got in some range time myself. Good times on Thanksgiving Day.
Handspinner here. knitter of artisanal fibers. Ive even spun quiviut (Musk Ox) My wheel is a “Traditional”from New Zealand. Dragged thatthing from Alaska to Utah to Minnesota, back to Alaska, then to Denver Colorado. Love that thing.
We had 22 adults + kids at The Feast. A really good time was had by all - I’m exhausted and the feasting wasn’t even at my house! The last out-of-towners left this morning. Plenty of leftovers, so no food prep other than heating up will be necessary for several days.
On the game camera the day before Thanksgiving, the following deer appeared: 2 big 8-point bucks, another big 6-pointer, a spike and at least one big-bodied doe. As soon as hunters (my nieces) were in the stand: nada. My one niece was in the stand well before dawn & as the sun came up, she heard something blowing/stamping behind her, then it moved off. She thinks it was one of the bucks ... wind was wrong & it smelled her. The other niece didn’t even hear anything.
Rainy weather today/tomorrow - going to try to do something ‘fiber arts’ although I’m not in the mood, for whatever reason. In spite of eating all low carb Thursday, I think I’m still in a bit of a food “coma”! I have 3 projects in-progress (4 if you count all the mittens I need to put thumbs on) so maybe I’ll pick the one I can finish the fastest (other than thumbs) & get it off the list and that will jump start some motivation. :-)
I put my hand quilting aside for a few weeks to make some little bed caddies (slipped between mattress and box springs) for my sister’s grandchildren for Christmas.
Guilt grabs me when I walk into my stash closest; the fabric calls out to me to make another couple of tops. My best friend died a year ago and left a ton of fabric to me and I need make use of it.
WOW that is beautiful!
Was carding a Leicester Longwool/Coopworth fleece I bought last fall at PA the Endless Mountains Fiber festival this morning. I’d love to send a photo of my Scandinavian spinning wheel that I have been using to spin it, but can’t figure out how to post photos.
Gorgeous! Your wife is an artist!
THAT is STUNNING! Wow! Beautiful! :)
That’s awesome! My dogs all have short hair, but once we get the new Pole Barn built, I’m getting a corner for Angora Rabbits. Yay! :)
If you can message them to me on FR, I can post them for you. Others here can help, too!
I think there are places what will turn your pet fur into a sweater for you, if you don’t have the inclination, yourself.
Angoras are so s w e e t.
That would be my kind of way to spend a day or a week! :)
