Wow. . . Some people on here obviously did not bother to go read the actual article. If they had, they would NOT be slamming Apple. TechRepublic is NOT an Apple centric website by a long shot, nor is this article an Apple centric article, nor is it really mean spirited. If they had bothered to read the article, theyd have found its actually good advice for the tech-non-friendly on what NOT to buy for Christmas when they are shopping for friends, with its tongue sticking through its cheek.
These guys have absolutely NO sense of humor. . .
Many people could go out and buy something they think their friends would love and stick them with an albatross around their neck due to not knowing tech problems they might be creating. This article actually explains why it would NOT be a good idea to buy some of these products, by turning the issue on its head.
For example, most buyers have no idea that Chromebooks have a limit on how long they are upgradeable after they are introduced and that that five year old model bargain basement Chromebook, while it looks like it might be a great present for Uncle Joe, could be a gift that results in his bank account being drained due to his identity being stolen because its security cannot be upgraded. Not a good gift at all. That is explained in the article. But the Anti-Apple Brigade only sees it as a slam against Chromebooks somehow favoring Apple. . . Because thats what they want to see. . . And because they DID NOT READ THE ARTICLE!
Good rant.
Indeed, the list is not Apple-biased at all - but just because an Apple fan posted it, they have to bring the hate.
It’s funny.
Laugh, Apple haters.
