A new social media platform for supporters of President Trump has emerged as his backers continue to migrate away from traditional forums such as Reddit.
The new website, thedonald.win, was created by users of the r/The_Donald subreddit after Reddit became more controlling about what content could be posted in the forum. In June, the company announced that the subreddit would be “quarantined.”
The quarantine, which is still in effect, doesn’t ban the forum but removes certain features and restricts how its content is shared. It also includes a warning about viewing the subreddit.
The new website is structured similarly to r/The_Donald. It includes features that allow users to upvote and downvote posts and comments as well as filter content by "hot," "new," "rising," and "top."
According to a post from a moderator last week, the platform has been a long time coming. The person said there were fears that if Reddit found out about the new website, it would ban r/The_Donald.
“We've been developing this site in secret for the better part of the year,” the moderator wrote. “Believe me, not letting it slip was difficult, with the rising tide of people begging for a backup as Reddit got worse and worse. We felt the need to keep it as tight-lipped as possible for fear that Reddit would find out and find reason to ban us over it to crush our movement.”
The moderator said they felt as if they needed to hurry and release the website after Reddit began limiting the ability of users to discuss the alleged whistleblower at the center of the impeachment effort, 33-year-old CIA analyst Eric Ciaramella.
Reddit warned r/The_Donald about using his name last week, telling users “posts that do nothing more than attempt to focus mob attention on this alleged individual cross a line.”
The new forum has eight rules posted along the side of the website: users must be Trump supporters, not engage in racism, follow the law, not reveal anyone’s real identity, be respectful, not be a self-promoter, ask moderation questions privately, and “don’t be dumb.”

It was just a joke. But the point was that FR is the best social meeting place for conservatives.
Hmmmm. I like having only five rules to remember.
FR is great for reading non-fake news that nobody else will publish but it’s near useless for creating posts due to being strangled by rules and fear of copyright violations.
I come here first to scan the news and then head off to Twitter, Parler, Gab, and now The Donald for articles that aren’t allowed here. I do like my Cryptogram puzzles, blogs, and Q drops from here though.

Yes, but it's preaching to the choir (and this choir seems to be shrinking over the years).
The battlefield is out there on Twitter, FaceBook, YouTube, Reddit, reaching out to people who are only getting exposed to the "mainstream" (leftist) message. That's why the president posts over there, not here.
FR is great. Love this place. Been here almost 20 years. But let's be honest. We're not reaching anyone new here.

Agree. This is the most user-friendly site I know. No frills. It’s simple to follow posts, i.e., what posts is being replied to, if there are comments/replies to a specific post., etc.
Can you tell what “permalink” and “deport” are? Just checked out the site and it looks pretty good. I hope it catches on.

For example, I deleted my profile on Facebook once I signed up for the_Donald on Reddit. I'm only active on that, FR and Twitter.
The "probation", "quarantine" or whatever they call it of the_Donald on Reddit is puzzling. That group are the most positive, upbeat, patriotic people on the Internet and they will quickly drive away (self-police) anybody coming in there with racist views and whatnot.
One thing I noticed though on Reddit, as soon as I became active on the_Donald sub, I was almost immediately a pariah everywhere else. I remember going to the Christmas music sub of Reddit in 2016, just after Trump's victory, and I was completely shunned there due to my participation on the_Donald.
Let's hope these Nazis never get any power over us.
