That’s because she is part of the ruling euro descent Mexicans, and they are shamefully racist against the more Indian based brown ones, the mestizos. Mexico has always been trapped between Euro monarchs/oligarchs, and the richly rewarded Catholic church that helps them keep the peons in line.
That place should be as wealthy as we are. But they missed out on the enlightenment.
