Mayor Pete may be a Rhodes Scholar and a vet and apparently is glib (I do my best to avoid listening to him), but his main credential for being in the race is that he is openly gay.

He's the mediocre mayor of a small town and he thinks that qualifies him to be the President of a nation of well over 300 million people. It makes me think of the parable of the talents in the New Testament. Pete was given one talent and instead of burying it in the ground, lost it at the race track, and now wants to be rewarded with the ten talents.
