President Trump welcomes a Senate trial. Is this a good idea? Let's take a look at the current Republicans in the Senate and see which ones would vote to remove the President from office.

There will not be an impeachment. Maybe a vote to censure. Peloosie will take the blame for it and go home for good. Once they all come back from this break, they will know for a fact that to impeach is to lose the House again.

That's EXACTLY what I have been thinking...with a vote for CENSURE, it all ends with the Dems getting the last word. If they vote to impeach, then it goes out of their control into the Senate, where ACTUAL witnesses can be called, and all kinds of cans of worms will open...

I don't think any Republican senator will. Public sentiment is turning against the over-hyped, non-producing impeachment proceedings. The weak-sauce results make it clear that it is nothing more than partisan politics. Many citizens who clearly dislike Trump are even more offended by trying to railroad an innocent party. An ingrained sense of American justice.

All politicians know the old political adage: If you shoot at the king, you'd better not miss. Of the true Trump-haters, only Collins, due to her pending retirement, is immune from retribution. But I don't think she will. She will grandstand and chastise Trump but in the end, re-emphasize her contempt for him but state that nothing was proven to the level of removal from office.

Mitt, show political courage? Don't make me laugh. He might try to get out in front for a while but once the bullets start flying, he'll slither back into a foxhole to hide.

Lamar Alexander is also a retiring RINO. I live in TN...he can’t be gone soon enough.

President Trump saying that he welcomes a Senate trial is a good idea. He doesn’t get a vote on that outcome, which is controlled by America’s enemies. It’s best to look confident and pray that the usual suspects do not join in with this treasonous coup. If he looks confident enough, perhaps the thugs will back down and merely “censure” our president.

Let it be known if any of their names show up on my voting ballot, they will get a phone call to inform them they’ll never get this household’s vote.

If he gets 2nd term, it won’t end. Dems are vicious, unforgiving and fight fight fight to take down anyone who is in their way. The will move the rules, goal posts, will say he cheated to win 2nd term, not a fair election....

They will find some other conversation to get him on, try and set him up,etc.

I’m really surprised he hasn’t been assassinated by the Deep State so far.

They would vote to convict but the democrats have nothing yet..

Trump has exposed the GOP as useless at the federal level..

Trump poll numbers stay high they will not convict him

If he is removed from office, I think the war begins.

Romney

Collins

McConnell

And maybe a few others will vote to convict. The rest will realize it is political suicide to vote against Trump and will put their cushy jobs first, regardless of any personal or political beefs with Trump.

True but I just don't see him playing rogue. Collins, on the other hand, could enjoy being the skunk at the picnic. I don't she will ultimately but I would think her more inclined to do so than Alexander.

During the 84 campaign I volunteered for Ken Kramer vs Tim Worth. Gardner is no where as good as Kramer but those were different days. But Wirth still won. Ronny Reagan even campaigned for Kramer.

“While we have seen Nixon and even gay purple lipped rateared dogeaters o from a low political ebb to rise to power, the fixation with a Romney redux is pathetic. DJT jr has a better chance”

That’s true, but it doesn’t mean that he thinks that. I think he really sees himself as the great savior of the “Moderate” GOP. He doesn’t realize that many of us supported him in 2012 because we were scared of a second Obama term. He does know that he can never be president without the party apparatis. And turning on Trump means that he can never be nominated as a Republican and The Dems would never have him.

Trump will not be impeached. If somehow the Republicans manipulate things in the House in order to impeach him there will be a trial. This trial will expose so much corruption by the Democrats that no Republican will vote to remove Trump.

Which is why I referred to them as "the Aristocracy" rather than Repugnicans and Demon'Ratz.

I do believe we agree.

No, I don’t see Rubio voting to convict.

My guess is that the Dems will vote a “censure” of Pres instead of full bore impeachment. Of course, the nuts might be so radical that she won’t be able to hold them back. Whatever she has to do to survive, that is what she will do!
