Never saw the Gwyneth Paltrow version. There is an very good earlier production starring Kate Beckinsale as Emma before she started to spray paint latex on her body.

Never saw the Gwyneth Paltrow version.I really liked the Paltrow version. Great cast, and beautifully shot. The music score by Rachel Portman had a lot to do with the overall effect of the story.

Ah, one of my favorite movies. The Paltrow version (only one I’ve seen) was very well cast, especially Fannie and Ms. Bates. The characters really come to life.
