In his book, Bear Bryant said the best player he ever had was John David Crow. The best athlete was Joe Namath. Now that surprised me. I knew he was a great QB, but Bryant must have coached many, many great athletes.
In one of his books John Madden described Joe Namath as the quarterback he feared most as an NFL coach.
I always like Joe. He admits his mistakes and tries to do better. Sure wish he could of had good legs in the NFL.
