The NFL has lost all semblance of a once great sport to sit around as a family on Sunday afternoon or Monday night.
Now it is a bunch of gang banging blacks that think their schiff doesn't stink.
Yep
As soon as they do it for boxing and wrestling and MMA bouts and the such....
Would stand your ground laws apply too?
Sure! A thug is a thug in a National Felons League costume or not; on the street mugging people or on a field assaulting another thug. But I shouldn’t comment because I haven’t watch these mutts in three years.
No. And we shouldnt pretend that situations like this havent happened before. This is woke culture outrage. Leagues should police themselves.
Boy, a lot of people now never watched pro football in the late 50s and early 60s.
Americans have beer and football.
I don’t know.
Should politicians be charged with the crimes they constantly commit?
I wonder which is more important.
Why not? Are they gladiators?
It depends. Using a helmet on someone’s head? Yes.
In this case, it would be an easy self-defense acquittal. On a football field, it was inappropriate and deserved a suspension and fine. But in court, if someone attacks me and I have something I can use as a club in my hand, I expect to be allowed to use it.
Note - I don’t agree with the folks who say Rudolph started it. Garrett dragged him down well after the initial hit and then rolled on top of him and got in his face. That was when Rudolph tried to grab his helmet.
Didn’t anyone watch pro wrasling back in the day when they use to hit each other over the head with folding chairs?
Baseball is a strange situation, isn’t it? As you point out, the best hitters have batting averages indicating they get a hit over 30% of the time. But that means they fail almost 70% of the time.
I wonder how that contrasts with other sports. Do the best basketball players make a basket only 30% of the time? I don’t know the answer to that, but it’s an interesting point.
Agreed with all you wrote.
No. That’s a door that only has bad endings.
I get that. I still think that a PA would be doing the NFL a favor if charges were brought. It would keep this from escalating until someone did get killed in front of millions of people.
A lot of shooting success also goes to position in the NBA. The career average for Koby Bryant shot less than 45% while Larry Bird was over 49%. Kareem Jabbar was at 55%. But these are not the norms for the league.
The big names now are Labron James at 42% while Steph Curry drops to the mid 30’s because of the threes they are trying to sell he misses. And DeMarcus Cousins career stats are in the mid to high 30’s even with the box under the rim. He was a Olympic representative and an NBA all star.
The game there has changed since the early years of sport in the 50’s and 60’s. It used to be a game of finesse and skill. Now it’s goons, three’s and dunks. Entertaining? To a point.
But the lack of violence has been what has destroyed all the women’s pro leagues that have been in action. And now that that game has gotten more violent and bigger, it is selling a little more. But it took the goons and the ability of some to dunk that sold it. Not the game of ball handling, passing and defensive rebounding that used to make the game enjoyable. It is now the three, the dunk, and shot blocks that often knock the shooter into the third row.
The three most important stats for a team are assists, rebounds, and free throw percentage. Assists are getting good shots consistently while rebounds mean control of the ball. If the opposing teams is not getting a lot of good shots with the percentage they have they don’t score as often as they won’t get a second shot. And free throws should be automatic. That is a chance to make a goal completely unattended.
And it stops putting Shaq O’Nei to the line late in the game. That is boring as he(( and time to go to the popcorn booth. But they wanted you to do that anyway...bottom line.
So the success rate of shooting is way down with the three in the NBA and the acceptance of the violence, batting averages in MLB are down as the chicks dig the long ball which happens maybe 40 times a year for players that bat 650 times in a season, football at most levels is nothing but a street fight with the protection of certain positions that pay the big bucks...I could go on, but it get redundant. Sports are not sports. They are a business to earn money. And it is lucrative in pro sports and even more in college.

They eventually get arrested.
