I see all the shuffling and ducking and weaving (and outright lies) of the Washington (political), New York (finance/media) and Los Angeles (Hollywood/media) and all the other academic hotbeds....getting away with things that would put me in jail.

The litany of Obama, CIA, FBI, Epstein, Clinton, Biden, Uranium 1, Russia, Ukraine, on and on and on....

In the end, Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi, Schumer, Biden, Clinton, Obama, Rice, Strozk, Page, etc. will do NO TIME. They will keep their pensions and will continue to write books and show up on ABC and CNN and at universities to talk.

These people lie, send billions to our enemies, open our borders, and do the exact SAME things they accuse President Trump of, including falsifying FISA warrants.

Their lies, corruption and hatred of the US is ON RECORD and NO ONE WILL SERVE A DAY IN JAIL. Zip, nade, none.

I listen to the Ukrainian woman or McCabe or Roger Stone or Weissman and know that everyone there except maybe Stone and Flynn, will all come out of this in one piece.

A real coup attempt, aided by the Media who created false narratives to back up leaked fake stories to give them validation....

I just am going to turn off this stuff for good. No one, including Brennan, Comey and Clapper....will be held responsible.

I would be in a jumpsuit for 0.0001% for what these people do, and no one will serve a day, unless maybe a low level bureaucrat who will be the whipping boy for the Elites.

Frustrated. Tired. And pissed.

Done with rant, need coffee. Please forgive me.

This coup cannot succeed! I don’t think it will, but I gotta step up my prayers for the President. If they succeed with removing him from office via coup, or worse, I predict an armed civil war will break out. Hope that whoever in DC that is monitoring this will take all into consideration!!!!! Don’t mess with our Constitution!!!!!!

I'm right there with you. I used to be a news junkie. Listened to all the radio talk shows, watched Fox News from the minute I got home from work to the time I passed out on the couch, watched all the Sunday news shows, subscribed to The American Spectator, National Review and Limbaugh Letter.

I was even a board op for several local talk radio shows here in Northern California (aka The State of Jefferson)

Shortly before the 2016 election, I was so sure Hillary was going to win I gave up on politics and news other than here on FR.

Even with my self-imposed blackout, enough news filters through for me to stay informed on what's going on but my life is so much more peaceful now. I actually take my wife out to dinner from time to time, go to grandson's football and basketball games, go wine tasting on the weekends.

Lo and behold! There's a life just waiting to be lived out there!

Take a break. God's got this. We know this crap is going to get worse before it gets better but, the point is, it gets better!

Just consider this a semi-opus. Your life will be all the better for it.

“Frustrated. Tired. And pissed.”

I agree, and I feel that way some days, too.

HOWEVER - NONE of this corruption and brazel lawlessness of the Political Class would be seeing the light of day if ‘She Who Shall Not Be Named’ had been ‘selected’ to the Presidency!

Don’t lose sight of that. Change causes pain, but in this case, I think the pain will well be worth it to see some of these pukes lose their jobs in Government.

I predict that 2020 is going to bring about a lot of good things for America and We The People.

I can’t help but be hopeful! We have President Trump, God and each other working together to save our Republic...and that’s not happened since President Reagan. So many more eyes ARE being opened. Take heart. :)

Give yourself a media break and continue to pray...for PDJT’s safety and the destruction of the enemies of our Republic! :)

And if you ever find yourself travelling through The State of Jefferson, give me heads up. We’ll take you guys wine tasting, beer tasting, fishing or just hanging out.

I just am going to turn off this stuff for good.

That's what they want you to do. You do that and they win. Personally, it's better to take a break now and then rather than allow it to boil over and give up (or blow up).

I finished this today.
Senator Grassley wrote a letter to Loretta Lynch on August 15, 2016.
Grassley was demanding that she answer questions on the pay to play access to Hillary Clinton when she was Secretary of State.
That letter is in a PDF file format.
I’ve retyped it in Facebook Notes and made all the links clickable. You can see it here:

Frustrated. Tired. And [angry].
All of which traces to The Establishment - which consists of the journalism cartel, “liberalism” in government and and in Big Education, unions, and the Deep State.

The journalism cartel is IMHO the linchpin of all. Any questioning of the existence of that cartel is challenged to seriously question either that the wire services constitute continual virtual meetings of all major US journalism - or Adam Smith’s dictum that " People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices.” It’s an open-and-shut case.

The central governmental function which has empowered and unleashed the journalism cartel upon American society has been the unanimous 1964 New York Times Co. v. Sullivan Warren Court decision - which has essentially suppressed all libel suits by Republican politicians (and judges) It would affect Democrats the same way - but ”liberals” go along perfectly with the journalism cartel and therefore get along perfectly with the journalism cartel.

At the Newseum in the Aspen Institute 2011 Washington Ideas Forum, [Justice Antonin] Scalia said the landmark ruling meant “you can libel public figures without liability so long as you are relying on some statement from a reliable source, whether it’s true or not. (link)
We now live with the practical flaw in the effect of Sullivan - once designate a news outlet “a reliable source,” and it becomes free from any risk of a libel action and so does any other outlet which takes that “reliable” source as gospel. With the result that there is no legal mechanism for treating mere unsworn “testimony” - even rumor - in print any differently in the public discourse than a jury verdict. Would any journalist who feared consequences for libel have joined the chorus of scurrilous rumormongering precipitated by the Kavanaugh hearings? No, the Sullivan decision has opened a veritable Pandora’s Box of libel against Republicans.
So much for the definition of the problem and its causes. What are the possible solutions?
The first obvious solution is antitrust litigation against the journalism cartel - against the Associated Press and its members, and against any and all wire services and their subscribers. All wire services constitute virtual meetings of journalists, after all, and all therefore have the same effect of making “a conspiracy against the public” inevitable. Doing without the wire services would have seemed unreasonable as recently as the 1970’s. But the Internet is a symptom of the fact that telegraphy bandwidth which was scarce and expensive historically, is now dirt cheap.

The second solution which presents itself is to mount a frontal legal challenge to Sullivan. Although there has been 200% turnover in SCOTUS justices since 1964, the fact that Sullivan was unanimous (with enthusiastic concurrences) seems daunting on its face. But Antonin Scalia would have welcomed such an opportunity. That requires an explanation.

As is well known, the Bill of Rights as a set of constitutional amendments was demanded as a condition for ratification of the Constitution. It was “must pass legislation.” There could be nothing in it that could be considered a “poison pill” to prevent passage of the First Amendment (for instance).

The conundrum was that the omission of a bill of rights in the original constitution was intentional - for the reason that although things like freedom of the press and the right to keep and bear arms were established rights in the pubic consciousness, the full and exact extent of the rights of the people was a question of common law, nowhere comprehensively codified. How to formulate such a comprehensive list and gain consensus for the notion that all the rights of the people were preserved?

The answer found in the Bill of Rights is twofold:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

But notice the wording of the First Amendment WRT freedom of the press: 1A does not refer simply to “freedom of the press” but to “the freedom of the press.” Scalia noted that freedom of the existed at the time of the composition of the Constitution - and so did the right to sue for compensation for libel.

Had the First Amendment referred to " freedom of the press” in the abstract, it would arguably have extinguished both the right of the people to sue for libel and the rights of governments to enforce anti pornography laws. And that would have been controversial - could have been the poison pill which would have subverted the entire Bill of Rights project to solidify consensus around the new Constitution. Instead 1A refers to “the” freedom - freedom within limits - of the press as traditionally understood.

The conclusion, Scalia asserted, is that the First Amendment was crafted to not touch the law of libel. And that in asserting that

". . . libel can claim no talismanic immunity from constitutional limitations. It must be measured by standards that satisfy the First Amendment”
Justice William Brennan and the entire Warren Court erred in Sullivan.
