The Virginia attorney general’s office has launched an investigation into the school system in one of the nation’s wealthiest counties after NAACP officials filed a complaint accusing Loudoun County Public Schools of failing to provide African American students equal access to advanced programs.
In an Oct. 3 letter to Loudoun Schools Superintendent Eric Williams, an official with Attorney General Mark R. Herring’s office said a discrimination complaint had been received this year alleging that African American students were denied equal opportunity to participate in the Academies of Loudoun, which includes the school system’s high-caliber science, technology, engineering and math programs.

We do that sort of thing long enough, and new bridges will fall down and such.
This will produce a bunch of Affirmative Action engineers who will be designing bridges and aircraft in the future. Oh Goody!
Not in China. The future is theirs.
Engineering is very math based and therefore racist. So numbers and the calculations arising from such will no longer be used to design bridges or airplanes. They will be holistically designed.
They will adopt some half-baked quota system so that the minorities can be accepted into the high performer program. Then in order to keep them in the program, they will lower the expectations of all the students. Then the deserving students will no longer be challenged and they will be denied a better education, and will be ill equipped to compete in college.
Stupid people do stupid things, like vote for stupid people. Cheese and Rice. We are slaves to stupid people. Enough already!
As a "white guy", I have absolutely NO problem that Asians are the majority of these students.
In fact, if I really wanted to be part of these gifted/accelerated programs, I would... WORK HARDER.
It would never occur to me to whine that there are fewer white students.
And the last thing I would do is SUE over it.
Virginia is for racists.

That’s the “holistic approach” that the NAACP wants applied to the admissions process. IOW quotas based on race not merit. The sad thing is that even if exceptions to merit requirements were made to increase access for opportunity purposes, so much bad faith exists that any failures would be attributed to anything EXCEPT poor student performance. (That, by the way, is how you end up with all the “woke” and “decolonizing” curriculums. Any suggestion of lack of student ability or application is, prima fascia, evidence of institutional (white) racism).
Our local school system dropped their gifted program many years ago, rather than deal with discrimination lawsuits.
