Royal experts fear Prince Harry and his wife's reported plans to skip the Queen's Christmas gathering at Sandringham this year risk perpetuating their perceived distance from the Royal Family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly told the Queen they will not spend son Archie's first Christmas with the monarch at her country estate in Norfolk.
Prince Harry and his wife are undecided what to do for Christmas, but have chosen to spend it away from other Royals at the traditional get-together, The Sun reported this morning.
Royal watchers fear the move could worsen tensions between the couple and the rest of the Royal Family, following recent from comments from Harry that he and his brother were 'on different paths at the moment.'

that sounds like Christmas with my older sisters. Christmas SHOULD be enjoyable but some people can’t ever shut up and enjoy it.

I remember seeing a photo of the military guy who was reportedly having an affair with Diana. Alongside this photo was a photo of Harry. That is when I decided that the rumors were true. Both were younger then, in those photos; but, the resemblence was remarkable.
We the public -- whether in the U.S. or U.K. know very little about what is truly going on behind the scenes and what is in the hearts of people involved with the goings-ons of the monarchy.
What is public knowledge though, is that for all the "wrong" ways the Sussexes may be managing their resources -- the publicity garnered for their wedding and their expansive appeal throughout the globe has contributed much to the British economy and profile. During a very difficult (Brexit) time.
And in the grander scheme: I feel a strong sense of God's anointing on her life and that of Prince Harry's and their child.
Hopefully for everyone involved, including each of us, Christmas is ultimately about celebrating the eternal Prince of Peace. All else is -- even good things--is secondary. So let us measure our observance of the holidays rightly making sure our own hearts and souls are in the right place.

That very scenario has happened several times with a selection of Markle’s relatives. Halfwit Harry is also no slouch when it comes to public brawling, wearing bad taste costumes, partying naked in Vegas and using racial slurs. Halfwit and MeAgain’s half brother and pot-growing nephews out on the town together in Hollywood would be epic.
I did have high hopes for her. But it’s been one extravagant or protocol-snubbing thing after another, things that are a slap in the face of one of the most dutiful yet graceful monarchs of all Western history who has genuinely earned respect and deserves better from her grandson and his lady.
I hope the two of them get their priorities in order. Our American concepts of freedom do not readily apply to their special situation with its many obligations in exchange for all the good stuff, including the expensive protection officers who must accompany them to the U.S. while she has her very special Christmas made to order only for her.
Marry in haste, regret it at leisure.
I agree they need to give up the “titles and money” and just be “plain old Harry and Meghan”, but how about they move to Australia or Canada? We don’t need them here.
They won’t live in poverty wherever they go, whether she works or not. He inherited money from his mother.
Yeah. Even though I don’t think this is a *direct* analogy (as there is such a loveliness radiating from Will and Kate) — for some reason the verse “the elder shall serve the younger” (re: Jacob and Esau) keeps coming to mind.
I perceive a very strong calling on the Sussexes. Regardless of what the “earthly” titles and things dictate.
And I think Meghan specifically represents the modern world and the monarchy represents tradition/history and how both need each other. But right now there is tension.
Time will tell.
On a purely practical note, even if the Sussexes were in the wrong behind the scenes and exhibiting less than stellar behavior — I still empathize with the idea of not wanting to be in Sandringham. Just seems sort of dreary... And everyone, including the most attention-seeking stars need breaks from photographers and things after awhile. Who wants to be judged on the state of their weight and how they look on Christmas?! And one’s first Christmas as a new mom at that?
He does have SOME money from is mother, but Me-again blows through money like nobody’s business. I am really tired of their whining. Trust me, I KNOW what it is like to live in Britain with a ‘new’ husband and no relatives/loved ones to celebrate Christmas. She was so excited to join the Royal Family as she knew she would get more and more attention. Well, she certainly does get the attention and in Hollywood, all press is good press I guess.
We saw Harry’s rebellious side many tomes. When Me-again manipulated her introduction to Harry, it is likely he was seduced by her 1/4 African heritage. And she is so proud of her 1/4 African heritage she pretty much only pays attention to the masses who share some African heritage, too.
But why did she have a nose job to make her nose narrower? And why does she straighten her hair every day? She uses her ‘attributes’ to gain attention and I suspect Harry, by marrying her, was acting out like he has frequently in his life. There was a movie on TV about their courtship and at one point, Charles asked Harry if he wanted to marry Me-again BECAUSE of her 1/4 African heritage. Harry stormed off.......I wondered if the movie had been given the OK by the couple as there was actual footage of them at a photo-op at the end. And the movie showed the Queen embracing Me-again’s heritage by showing her a portrait of Queen Charlotte who was also part Black.
Whatever the outcome, this couple will be trouble for as long as they are married. Count on it.
That marriage will survive as long as Harry stands being Meghan’s boy and giving her her way.
This could be why he is talking up another baby. Keeps her more contained and less pushy.
The reserve in Botswana is not quite ready - I’m afraid they will have to wait at their second home - in Beverly Hills - until it is all finished - should be done by 2055.
