It goes without saying that our government is responsible for a serious erosion of our Constitutional rights in recent years.
Maybe it’s more accurate to say it has often gone without saying. Some of those most outspoken, historically, on these issues remain largely silent– or even take the other side in today’s Alice in Wonderland dynamic.
Author and journalist David Kirby stands up where too many stay seated with his new expose: “When They Come For You: How Police and Government are Trampling Our Liberties and How To Take Them Back.”
Kirby, a New York Times bestselling author, says the idea for his newest book came after he began hearing one case after another of outrageous government violations from seizure of property to claiming to own our children. It’s happening at the federal level, but also at the local level of city and county government.
Free speech, privacy, protection from unreasonable search and seizure, due process, and equal protection under the law are rights that belong to every American citizen, but are being shredded at an alarming rate all across the country.

They will be shocked when Mr Beowulf .50cal roars with a w/ 400gr HP at them. In PA, there’s over 740,000 registered hunters, with uncountable firearms; ditto Ohio, Michigan etc. Almost 15,000,000 in the 50 states. I think we outnumber the thugs.

David Kirby has been a regular contributor to the Huffington Post since its founding in 2005, has been a professional journalist for over 15 years. Kirby has also written for a number of national magazines. In addition, Kirby was a foreign correspondent in Mexico and Central America from 1986-1990, where he covered the wars in El Salvador and Nicaragua, and covered politics, corruption and natural disasters in Mexico.He has also done extensive consulting with the United Nations Development Programme’s Human Development Report Office.
Kirby worked in politics, medical research and public relations as well. Kirby also wrote the award-winning New York Times bestseller, EVIDENCE OF HARM: Mercury in Vaccines and the Autism Epidemic – A Medical Controversy (St. Martin’s Press – 2005). Evidence of Harm sparked a national debate in private homes, leading universities and the halls of Congress.
Kirby has appeared on such venues as Meet the Press, Larry King Live, The Today Show, Imus in the Morning, Montel Williams, Air America, and dozens of local radio and television stations.
