Yes, I assume it is. One person said he saw a “can” and I assumed he was talking about a suppressor. Wonder what the reasoning was behind bringing a silencer? I’m in grade school and I know these guys are operating at the PhD level, but I need some help here!

I have no personal experience but I would guess that they wouldn’t want to spook the crowd with the sounds of gunfire.

People in a crowd can turn lemming. A lot could get hurt.

Optics are sighted in for a can. Can stays on all the time.

Suppressors do not make rounds silent or even quiet on a high velocity big bore round.
The can is in place for the shooters hearing protection.

Suppressor protects ears with large heavy hitting rounds like .300 WinMag, and .338 Lapua.

Can also make it hard for the bad guys to pinpoint where the shot came from.
