Can also make it hard for the bad guys to pinpoint where the shot came from.
You are probably right although they do look cylindrical to me. That was why I immediately thought of those Nikons.
The Canon IS would make sense and I agree with you about holding them too far away. I would not have even thought about it but realized that I always hold my upper arms against my body for a more stability.
I never even thought about it and have been using them since around 1958.
Yeah, even when I was making good money, I could not have afforded those or the scopes or the binoculars.
I have had some decent, Winchesters, Remingtons and even a couple of H&K’s. Leopold and Redfield’s back when Redfield was a great scope.
I even got a couple of nice Steiners from pawn shops near Ft. Stewart. Those Steiners have a great wow factor tho after you have them for a while you realize that they are excellent but there are better ones.
Yeah, chassis bolt guns and some AR platform on the right, can see the charging handle.
A couple of years ago I was at an event in Israel with Netanyahu in attendance. There were two towers on each side of the bleachers where we were seated, with sniper/spotter teams in each. They were constantly and openly scanning the crowd with the scopes of the rifles. Several times I looked up to see a rifle pointed in my direction.
Look closer, there are 2
Look at #65. In the real world it happens and has to happen for quickest response to a threat.
I thought the SS does not generally allow local LE to have weapons in the vicinity of the president. Could be wrong.
Maybe 20 years ago I attended a political rally in the lake yard in DeFuniak Springs. Connie Mack and Jeb Bush were speaking.
The only reason I was there was for the free hot dogs and cokes. Also a little curiosity. There were a few guys there who looked out of place. They were wearing suits but not the sun glasses I always associate with Secret Service.
I took several photos of them and in one I can see one of the SS types staring right at me.
Oh Boy,,,
* posse comitatus or politically correct
I still have that photo somewhere. I am pretty sure they were SS but no way of knowing. There were also Walton, County Deputies and they were wearing those sun glasses.
That rifle was aimed at you.
Watchers pay attention to those that watch them.
Love this!
Bet there were at least 4 of these manned platforms if not more.
Because we already had people on the ground that advised the landing teams not to smoke the idiot reporters onshore.
But we should have light them up proper.
No kidding!
Most all you need is money. Quite a bit of it. Or you can get a semiauto H&K PSG-1 in the same price range...without optics.
Sorry, you can't get ammo at WalMart.
You can't get a T-5000, either.
It is always money.
I have wanted an H&K PSG-1 since the 1980s. Even when I had a comfortable income they were just too expensive.
