I went to see Robert Redford in "The Old Man and the Gun" for free at the local library. The audience was 80% 70's aged women probably there to see his supposedly last movie. It was in many ways a remake of "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" I had two thoughts: 1. It unnecessarily gave a criminal life a glossy favorable review. 2. It interjected an interracial marriage into the story with the cop who finally catches the "hero" having a black wife. Now I have nothing against black and white marriage, but I know something of its history. Until 1967 interracial marriage was illegal in Texas and other southern states. The cop in the movie was my age and I know a white cop marrying a black women in those days anywhere would have been impossible. I have noticed in TV shows and commercials that mixed race marriage portrayals are common. There appears to be an agenda here. In 2010 in the US only 0.3% of the marriages were between a white man and a black women. In the 60's, when the cop would have been married like I was, the number was near zero. Interestingly there were 8.6% of marriages between a black man and a white woman, a significantly larger number.
Of course there’s an agenda. And of course Hollywood is distorting history to push it. It’s what they do.
#1. You went to see a bobby REDford movie
#2. See #1
LOL!
Actually, I think TV and movies tend to avoid having black men married to white women because that enflames black women. On the dopey show Grey’s Anatomy, there;sâe a fat, overbearing black women doctor who is married to a slim, handsome black man. Every time I see them on screen, I think that in real life, this guy would be with a white chick, but that would never fly on network TV.
Black and white marriages are like a “box of chocolates” you never know what your gonna git. I remember my only daughter (who married a man who is a child of a white mom and black father)asking if the baby was white or black after giving birth.....she was so relieved that the child was light in pigment . It doesn’t matter what I think of it as I do not have to live that choice of my daughters, personally I do not find other tribes women attractive, I tend to be attracted to anglo-saxxon females. I’m sure I will get no responses with this posting.
It has been so long since I’d heard mention of Redford that I’d just assumed he’d passed on.
But I haven’t been to a theater to see a movie since 2001 or thereabouts.
Just won’t pay to support them, even to buy a DVD...except for anything by Eastwood.
Buy DVDs used. They don’t get a cut of used sales, nor are new production runs likely even if every used copy sold and the market were unserved.
Deffenitly..??? What the heck is that..!! That is definitely spelled wrong... Definitely... :)
At least they didn’t spell it “defiantly,” which I see all the time.
I watched it a=while ago for free on my $20 KODI/Exodus Android TV box (I don’t pay because I want the globalist media to die an agonizing death of starvation) and I didn’t really catch the Butch Cassidy connection. It was such a lame movie I didn’t care about it enough to think about it.
Black women don't like it and say so. But the media may also suspect that other parts of the population also don't like it, but don't say so or even admit it to themselves. Or at least the broadcasters may be assuming that.
Every time I see them on screen, I think that in real life, this guy would be with a white chick, but that would never fly on network TV.
Really? Like there aren't attractive Black women that Black men are attracted to? That assumption may be the thing black women object to.
Hollywood is going to put people of different races into pictures.
This time it wasn't a cop or a judge, but a robber and a cop's wife.
Everybody in what happened twenty years ago may have been White, but at this point that might feel unusual.
Once you go white you know it ain’t right... with yo mamma

Other “tribes”; interesting way to describe things. I am white, and find females of all backgrounds attractive. But I married a white woman of a similar background to mine; I would not have considered marrying a black woman, or a woman of a different ethnicity.
But those women are attractive (to me) only in the degree in which they resemble white women, and lack the most common characteristics of blacks: big butts, humongous hooters, broad noses, steel-wool hair ...
Married a Mexican lady 25 years ago. I am happy.
“Hey, look what our friend Bryant did, eh? “
Wonder who/what Katie Couric is keeping now?
