The "Super-8" cleaning liquid is just a cheaper form of Clorox Bleach. It’s frequently used in restaurants to clean floors. . . but it should NEVER be mixed with another cleaning solution that has Ammonia as an ingredient in ANY concentration, and I am willing to bet that’s what happened at the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant. Sodium Hypochlorite, the active ingredient in "Super-8" cleaning solution is the same active ingredient in Clorox Bleach. Users have to be very careful not to mix it with Ammonia. Mixing them results in a chemical that is very close to Mustard Gas. Very Toxic! It’s also exothermic when mixed; i.e., it gets HOT, Forming a greenish yellow toxic gas! I bet that’s what happened at this restaurant that killed a worker and got eight more sick.

Dangers of Mixing bleach and Ammonia
When bleach and ammonia are combined, a chemical reaction is stimulated. Chlorine gas, chloramine and other toxic chemicals are released in the air when these two substances are mixed together. Different chemical compositions are created depending on the amount of both ammonia and bleach added to the mixture.

Effects of Fumes
Fumes created by any of the chemicals created are harmful, explosive and volatile. The mixture has been used in chemical warfare -- it's that dangerous. The mixture will either explode, causing painful chemical burns if close enough to skin, or make its way into the mouth, throat and lungs, causing intense pain, cellular damage and death.

PS for any lurkers on FreeRepublic who might have some Democrat tendencies. . . PLEASE DO NOT TRY MIXING CLOROX OR ANY OTHER LIQUID BLEACH WITH AMMONIA!

In fact, don’t try mixing it with anything other than water, especially any acids as you’ll get similar problems that you might NOT survive.

In other words, DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME! Just don’t.

My daughter got a whiff of this when she was mopping up a puddle of dog pee with some bleach.
