I’m assuming the article means to say that she was arrested FOR taking drugs and their effect on the baby. The article doesn’t say that.
If true, then the assumption is that the baby was a human person and that the woman killed the baby.
But if she had gone to an abortionist there would be no arrest. Because the moment the woman enters the abortionist’s office, the baby turns into a reptile.

Notice the race? I saw this when I worked in NICU- prosecutors going after only white moms while hordes from the ghetto spit them out and walked free. It’s like my white neighbor who had truant officers threaten her when her daughter had the flu. I pointed out to her that of course they were going after her- it made it look like they were doing their job and she was “safe” to go after.
