For reliability, in my opinion, the worst car in my lifetime was the Chevy Citation. Back in the 80’s I saw more of those cars dead on the side of the road than any other, by far. It became a running joke among me and my friends. “There’s another one”.

My dad bought a 1981 which was the first model year. Got it used from the dealer with a warranted, three year I think. So they replaced a CV joint every 6 months and then my dad had to pay $300 every 6 months after that to get them replaced. GM never did fix the CV design flaw.

I’ve had a few citations in my time. All were given to me by police officers.

Had a friend, in 1980, ask me to help his friend, a girl, buy her new car.
He was looking over her deal. So I helped her.
She was buying a Chevy Citation. I got her a great deal. It was red and silver with a bright red interior.
Never saw her after that. Always wondered how long it lasted.
About this color but silver across the bottom. 4-door with hatchback. All Citations disappeared pretty quickly. In 1994 Avis was sold out so I had to head to Budget or something to rent one week. Got a Corsica. Wow what a piece of junk. The Beretta looked OK from the outside. Whoever designed the Corsica interior must have been from the old Soviet Union. Very awkward.
