The young teen, identified only as Jericho W., escaped from social services' custody at about 12:10 p.m. local time while wearing leg restraints and no shoes, according to the Robeson County Sheriffs Office. The sheriff's office said the boy was in court facing two counts of first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon charges.
Jericho was last seen wearing a white shirt and beige pants. He's also described as being about 5 feet tall and approximately 110 pounds.
Although state law typically prohibits law enforcement agencies from releasing photographs of juveniles, the North Carolina Department of Public Safety issued a photo of Jericho so that the public could call police to report any sightings.
"Division officials have a high degree of concern for the safety of both the juvenile and the public, due to a prior history of assaultive and unpredictable behavior," the department said.

Where is daddy?
If Obama had a son, he’d look like Jericho W.

40% of Robeson county identify as Lumbee Indian.
Lumbee is an NC state recognized tribe, not federal.

That’s what I get for not searching.
Dead eyes.
What kind of North Carolina cop lets a shoeless 110 pound kid in leg irons escape custody?
That's pathetic police work.
The opposite of this one:

This one is being slammed as horrible (he assaulted a “child”)while the one in the above case is being slammed as negligent. Go figure.
A female copnor social worker?
How many here are in favor of executing this 13 year old.
Im guessing at least a third ....not sure theyll admit it
What’s wrong with the obligatory “teen”? Hasn’t the media taught us anything?
How many here are in favor of allowing “children” the upper hand? Or ignoring behavior of “children” because they are “children?” Where’s the line? And when does “childhood” end?
I’m against government sponsored murder so a hard no from me (not a death penalty proponent). I’m good with vigilante justice.
I’ve seen how our schools have changed to the degree that I wouldn’t get involved(or I try not to at least) and really that doesn’t help any child. I imagine it’s the same for many. Including LE.
Crack Baby?
Is it just me, or does someone else think this little defective is gonna have a short lifespan?

But this 13-year old is charged with two murders. Many years ago I worked as a teacher at a juvenile prison (”youth center”). I worked with two murderers. One killed his stepfather and left his step mother for dead. The other used an ax to kill his friend’s mom. Both were 13 or so at the time of their crimes. Under the laws then in effect, both were released upon their 18th birthdayand technically, at least, had a clean record.
Personally, I think that if the lad is found guilty, he should never be allowed in society again.
Here’s most likely the dude he “follows” so perhaps not death, but no life outside walls ever again.

Ive seen it time and again
“Most had a mother who didnt love them.”
There is a show on Netflix called “Mind Hunter”. Based on the origins of the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit. Much of the show has the actors using the actual transcripts of the prison interviews with various serial killers.
One of their first killers they interviewed was very well spoken and smart. He explained how his mother had always spoken poorly of him and demeaned him constantly. “If only mothers knew what that did to their sons. Of course, not all of us take it has far as I did. But I imagine most of the others like me had similar mothers.”
His mom was his first killing I think. I won’t go into the disturbing details of what he did. All explained in a very calm, quiet and almost scientific manner.
