China's social credit: Everyone gives Chicoms photos of their faces ... just to see the zoo

To go to a zoo and see the gorillas in socialist China, you've got some pre-conditions to fulfill first. You now have to give them a print of your face. And if you're a passholder, you'd better give it or else, because No Refunds.

That's what's prompted some pushback from a guy in Hangzhou, who's launched what's a probably hopeless lawsuit to protest the Orwellian practice, which falls into the same sort of doings that come with China's social credit system.

According to the Wall Street Journal:

BEIJING—A Chinese law professor has raised a rare legal challenge over how facial-recognition technology is deployed in a country where surveillance cameras are increasingly part of everyday life.

Guo Bing accused a wildlife park and zoo in the eastern technology hub of Hangzhou of violating his consumer rights by requiring members to register their faces as part of a new entrance system. On Friday, a court in Hangzhou accepted Mr. Guo’s case.

In October, Hangzhou Safari Park told members with annual passes, including Mr. Guo, that new facial-recognition technology had replaced the existing fingerprint-identification method, according to the lawsuit. Those who didn’t register wouldn’t be allowed to enter.

Coming to the world near you. DLT (Blockchain/DAG) technology (ie..Bitcoin), coupled with AI, Quantum Computing and Identity will control the global populace through an all knowing system where every transaction and movement will be traceable.

And you know the liberals are dying to implement such systems here. The technology exists, and will only be refined and upgraded in the future. Look for liberal run states such as California to start implementation of such plans. Then it will creep up to the federal level the next time we have a Democrat president.

I’m surprised this is being challenged in a court in China. Even with free market reforms, China is still a totalitarian state, even if not strictly communist. This guy filing the lawsuit may eventually get the midnight knock on the door and asked to take a walk with those gentlemen.........

We went on a cruise from America in April, and one of the greeters on land waved a piece of equipment at us when we arrived to board, and knew who we were.

The democrat party would love to put Americans under this same type social credit system.

Look at what is happening in Social media. We are already under surveillance and only certain speech is "allowed" .

All the dems need is to be elected, and then they will have the power to put the Chinese style system here.

As for the man suing his government, he's probably been arrested and sent to a camp to have his organs harvested.

The Social Credit System and all its supporting technology was created for China by Google.

I guess the Chinese authorities can tell those 1.2 billion Chinese apart

to me they look very very similar

that would be a hard job

And having worked with a lot of Chinese engineers I’d say try to keep a lid on the Internet there with all the censorship is another hard job
