In a common sense world, I’d agree completely. But I can just see this guy selling a box to someone and they then claim a rat’s in it. Who gets sued? Not the guy paying down his student debt, that’s for sure. KK would have to deal with that, the publicity fall-out, and all the other BS. Not worth it.

I see signs in Chinatown at the big grocery stores:

Items sold are not for re-sale.

Don’t know if they can enforce that.

Don’t know if KK has those signs.

Don’t know if they could enforce that if they had them.

I think there is brand management issues here. If he sold dough nuts, fine. But if he is selling them as Krispy Kreame, he is representing them with out permission. Should there be a liability question, who gets the finger pointed at them - Krispy Kreame or the kid?

Were I KK, I'd work with the kid to honor his initiative and set him up in a franchise where he lives. Win/Win.

The guy is just priming the market, smart company would put a store in his location and maybe hire the guy,
