For sure. Many of them were advanced and promoted by their deep state sponsors. I have yet to find anyone to explain how a kid from a well connected pollical family can serve in the USMC for only 14 months in a country club assignment like Okinawa prosecuting common crime and be allowed to resign so soon to accept a political appointment to a federal prosecutors office which he uses as a springboard to a congressional seat in a district drawn especially for him.
That's our local congressional critter Conor Lamb, who put on the USMC uniform and made it the centerpiece of his campaign.

Oh, I can remember one: guy named John Kerry - who “served” in Vietnam for 93 days (including in-processing time and leave and R&R and out-processing! - to get an excused leave to go work for the Massachusetts Senator’s re-election campaign.
And never worked again a day in his life!
Who negotiated not only with the North Vietnamese against the US, but also the Sandinistas in Nicaragua against Reagan’s White House!
